Rio’s dam is Selket Whisper, a Grey Arabian.

When you cross a Saddlebred with an Arabian you can register the foal as a National Show Horse as well as a Half/Arabian. If the foal is pinto colored like Rio, you can also register it with the Pinto Horse Association of America!

Half/Arabians have become so popular that “A” rated Arabian horse shows offer just as many Half/Arabian classes and prize money as the purebred Arabian classes! If you have always loved the people friendly disposition of the Arabian you should definitely consider a Half/Arabian as your next competition horse or trail buddy!

Rio is currently being shown by owner and trainer Sarah Holton in Hunter Under-Saddle and Western Pleasure at local and “A” rated shows. Look for him in the walk/trot youth division this summer!
