Lessons are currently offered in Hunt Seat Equitation (on-the-flat), Western Horsemanship, Showmanship, and Halter. We cater to those who wish to become competitive or those who wish to ride just for fun.

With their depth of expertise, Sarah Holton and the OHS staff provide top-notch training for both rider and horse. We offer instruction with an understanding and encouraging approach that brings out the best in all participants. Safety and happiness are always the priority, and Sarah, strives to help each student achieve his or her full potential.

Lessons are available at all levels- from the true beginner to the experienced showman - and for all age levels. Bring your own horse or ride one of our several quality school horses at Orchid Hill Stables, Inc.

Horse and Rider Private Lesson (1 hour) ........................... $40.00

• Designed for Beginner-Advanced Riders
• Lesson Tailored to Student’s Riding Discipline and Goals

Horse and Rider Semi-Private Lesson (1 hour) .................. $35.00 per person

• Semi-Private 2 riders in class
• Designed for Beginner-Advanced Riders
• Semi-Private lessons are arranged according to skill level and  student’s  goals

Horse and Rider Group Lesson (3 or more riders, 1 hour) ........... $30.00 per person

• Group lessons are arranged according to skill level and may include:
• Family fun rides
• Onsite trail rides
• Show Training
• Basic English or Western Riding Instruction

Horse and Rider Private Lesson (1/2 hour)…………….$25

• Designed for children ages 3 & 4   Basic Riding Instruction will be given

Horse Training (1 hour) ………………………………..$40

• Basic horse training-advanced under saddle training

>>>> Lesson Guidelines  <<<<

1. Orchid Hill Stables (OHS) will provide equipment necessary for the OHS horses used in lessons.
2. The clients may use their own saddle provided that it has been approved by an OHS staff member.
3. If assistance is needed from the instructor to properly prepare and care for the horse it will be within the lesson time.
4. If assistance is not needed from the instructor a student may come early to prepare for their lesson with prior permission.
5. Students must wear helmets appropriately fitted while riding. If you do not own an ASTM SEI certified riding helmet OHS will provide one for you.
6. Your first lesson at OHS will be an evaluation of your riding ability to help us determine which class level would be the best for you. Your evaluation instructor will conduct your lesson, explain our school procedures and take you on a short tour of our facility.

Call OHS at (863) 655-1582, email or make an appointment stop by in person and schedule your first riding lesson.  Please read our Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk Agreement. You must agree to this and sign before riding in our facility.

Since your lesson reserves time with your instructor and the exclusive use of a school horse, we require that you cancel any lessons you cannot attend at least 24 hours before the start of the classes. If you do not cancel a lesson and do not show up for it, it will be considered a "no show" and you may be charged $15.00.

Cancellations may be made by phone or in person. Call our office at (863) 655-1582 and leave your name, and the day and time of your class. You may also request to reschedule the lesson at this time.

When it is raining, please call before you come for your lesson. It might not be raining at OHS even if it is raining at your location.
