Welcome to Orchid Hill Stables, home of Lawerence and Sarah Holton.
Married August 1, 2003, Lawerence and I started making this stables a
reality right from the start.
Officially opened in January 2004, we started Orchid Hill Stables with
my two Morgan horses (one of which I’d owned since age 16), and my
Hackney Pony. In the years to come the Morgans would be retired and our
journey into the Arabian and Half Arabian horse world started. We now
have three pinto National Show Horses, two Arabian geldings, one old
Quarter Horse, and the Hackney Pony is still trucking little children
around.
You
can find us competing at Arabian Community Shows around the state. With
many of our riding students competing, it is a rarity to see me in the
ring at these events. Lawerence always makes sure I have a young project
horse so I do get in the spotlight once in a while. I love to compete,
but it is far more fun to watch my students’ excitement as they have the
opportunity to experience the thrill and energy of horse showing.
Take
time to explore Lawerence’s Orchid house while you are visiting. The
vibrant colors and fragrances of these exotic plants make them a
soothing and rewarding hobby. Sunday afternoons we are often found
tending to the flowers and our vegetable garden.
Everything that we have been blessed with has been a gift from God. Our
greatest blessing was to experience becoming parents when our daughter
Chloe Lynn Holton was born on November 18, 2008. Little Chloe was here
with us for 8 short weeks before passing away from SIDS on January 15,
2009.
Psalm
63:3-5
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my
hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
With singing lips my mouth will praise you.
